Demi Guynes Kutcher born November 11, 1962 as Demi Gene Guynes, known professionally as Demi Moore, is an American actress. After minor roles in film and a role in the soap opera General Hospital, Moore established her career in films such as St. Elmo's Fire (1985), and in the early 1990s, became one of the highest paid actresses in Hollywood with her successes in Ghost (1990), A Few Good Men (1992), Indecent Proposal (1993), and Disclosure (1994).

Demi Moore took her professional name from her first husband, musician Freddy Moore, and is the mother of three daughters from her marriage to actor Bruce Willis. She has been married to actor Ashton Kutcher since 2005.

Demi Moore was born Demi Gene Guynes in Roswell, New Mexico. As a child, she had a difficult and unstable home life. Her biological father, Charles Harmon, left her mother, Virginia King (November 27, 1943 – July 2, 1998), after a two-month marriage, before Moore was born. As a result, Moore had the surname of her stepfather, Danny Guynes (March 9, 1943 – October 1980 by suicide), on her birth certificate. Danny Guynes frequently changed jobs; as a result, the family moved a total of forty times. Moore has two younger half-brothers: James Craig Harmon (paternal) and Morgan Guynes (maternal, born 1967). Her parents were alcoholics who often fought and beat each other. Demi Moore was cross-eyed as a child and wore an eye patch in an attempt to correct the problem until it was ultimately corrected by two surgeries. She also suffered from kidney dysfunction.

Demi Moore's family settled in Los Angeles in 1976. She attended Fairfax High School in Hollywood, where her schoolmates included Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis, bassist Michael Balzary (aka Flea) and actor Timothy Hutton. When Demi Moore was 16, her friend Nastassja Kinski persuaded her to drop out of school to become an actress.

SFU student, actress Maple Batalia shot to death in B.C. parking garage

28/09/2011

A 19-year-old actress who had a role in a popular 2011 children's film was shot to death in a parking garage near Simon Fraser University's Surrey campus early Wednesday morning.

Authorities haven't released Maple Batalia's identity, but the teen's father confirmed her death to several local media outlets.

The shooting happened just before 1:30 a.m. when police were dispatched to a parking garage near SFU's Surrey campus, where Batalia was a nursing student.

Witnesses reported hearing multiple shots fired.

"Two uniformed officers immediately began CPR to do whatever they could to save this young woman's life," said Surrey RCMP Sgt. Peter Thiessen in a statement issued Wednesday.

Emergency crews transported the young woman to a nearby hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Details about her condition before entering the hospital are not yet known.

Batalia worked as a model and actress. Her most recent role was in "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules," a film based on a best-selling series of children's books.

Thiessen said there's no evidence to suggest the murder is linked to drugs or organized crime.

"Investigators are attempting to determine if this is a targeted homicide," he added.

Police haven't revealed whether there are any suspects in the case. Homicide investigators are probing the shooting.

HOT CELEBRITIES: Scandalized Irish farmer makes Rihanna move video shoot and cover up

61-year-old Irish farmer Alan Graham probably was not expecting to ever find his name in the lead story on People.com, yet, lo and behold, there it appeared this morning thanks to a dispute between Graham... and Rihanna.

The pop star had received permission from Graham to shoot the music video for her (excellent) new single "We Found Love" in his grain field.

However, as Rihanna danced away in an, um, unusual red hankerchief bikini number, Graham drove his tractor over to the shoot and halted production.

Rihanna was told to cover up by an Irish farmer
"I have an ethos and I felt [her clothing] was inappropriate," Graham told the BBC. "I requested them to stop and they did."

Despite the conflict, the two parties parted ways amicably, and Rihanna found a different location to film the rest of her video.

Graham -- perhaps trying to make the most of his 15 minutes? -- couldn't help but get in one more uncalled-for zinger

"I wish no ill will against Rihanna and her friends," Graham said later. "Perhaps they could acquaint themselves with a greater God.

"She was most gracious and we shook hands and we parted on good enough terms," he said.

C'mon, Graham-y, all you had to do was YouTube just one of Rihanna's videos to figure out what you were getting yourself into...
